Red Bull MX Pro Nationals @Canada Heights

MB9T0672

Simply Incredible – thats what these guys are. Regardless of the age group, these riders attack the course with such agression and disregard for their own safety that this has been one of the most exciting motorsport events i have attended in recent years.

Many thanks to FOX Racing for the free passes.

The Wildlife Heritage Fund

IMG_1770

Shots taken at the Wildlife Heritage Fund (WHF) last month.
The WHF is a charity organisation, based in Smarden near Ashford, focussed upon conserving endangered species of “Big” cats. They do this by raising awareness of the animals plights and working to preserve the genepool by trading animals with sanctuaries around the world.

The WHF is open by appointment only and can seem quite expensive. It is worth every penny however and I wholeheartedly recommend a visit.

The British Wildlife Centre

MB9T0494

Last month i had the pleasure of visiting the British Wildlife Centre (BWC) in Surrey. This non-profit organisation provides amazing enclosures for over forty species of British wildlife and offers perfect conditions for both photography and just enjoying the animals in a close to natural environment.

BBC 3’s Being Human Season2 Premier

On the 7th January, i was fortunate enough to have been hired as the official photographer for the season 2 premier of the BBC’s fantastic show “Being Human”. The event organiser, Elevenfiftyfive put on an excellent performance for 300 lucky fans of the show at the Curzon Cinema in Mayfair.

Highlights included:

- Appearances from Russell, Aidan, Lenora and Sinead, signing autographs, chatting to fans and posing for pictures.
- Camera Crew from the BBC Being Human blog recording the entire event for you to watch at home.
- CenSSA operatives scanning for Type 1s, 2s and 3s amongst the audience. They were pretty thorough in their searches for paranormal activity, including the odd torch-in-the-face moment, but I’m sure it was nothing personal…
- A confused, post-change werewolf bursting out of a van parked opposite the cinema, before being ushered away by the operatives. He later escaped and re-appeared in the cinema, causing havoc as he went.
- Vampires wandering around scaring the absolute dickens out of everyone.
- An exclusive screening of the first episode of season 2 on a full cinema-size screen.

Click the jump for a selection of images from the night.
Many thanks to Elevenfiftyfive for organising the event and for giving me the opportunity to work with them and the BBC.

Monkey Business

Port Lympne Zoo has some fantastic exhibits, but the Ape enclosures are fantastic! I highly recommend visiting, especially if you live in the South East.

Well, you have got to ask yourself one question. Do you feel lucky punk? Well, Do ya?

Cabinet Maker

There was an article about my father in Cabinet Maker magazine and he needed to submit a headshot. The catch was that it needed to be emailed across to the editing desk within 30minutes of him telling me! This was quickly set-up in the living room, 430EXII camera left inside a shoot through umbrella. Silver reflector camera right to lift the shadows.

Can you guess which one was submitted to the magazine? Lol.

Tate Sports

Wandering along the South Bank last year, i came across and extreme mountain bike dirt jump competeition. These guys were absolutely insane, pulling off some truly terryfying stunts. Luckily i had my camera with me and they continued to pull amazing moves whilst i happily snapped away. I love it when you find something interesting, purely by accident.

Hellingly Mental Asylum

Shots taken during an Urban Exploration trip to Hellingly Asylum – a Victorian mental hospital that was the architectural basis for asylums to follow across the UK. An extremely creepy and dangerous building, in serious disrepair, Hellingly is full of little wonders. Som eextremely talented graffiti artists use its unique textures as canvases for their art. Unfortunately this is let down by the usual vandals and arsonists that spoil it for everyone.

Hellingly is due to be renovated into housing. Im not sure if i could live in a place like Hellingly!
